Designed by Mark Sanders of MAS Design (http://www.mas-design.com/) (who also designed the Strida) The IF was originally called the Swivelhead (http://www.treehugger.com/files/2008/02/swivel_head_fol.php) the design was adapted by Pacific Cycles (http://www.pacific-cycles.com/product2.asp?cat1=1&cat2=4) & merged into the 'Reach' folders and further developed into the Urban & Mode versions.
The 'Mode' is 2-speed (using he Swiss Schlumpf speed drive (http://www.schlumpf.ch/sd_engl_technische_daten.htm) in the bottom bracket)
