Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hello,

New clyde here, just wanted to give a quick intro! 31yo male, 6'2", 241.6lbs as of 2 days ago. Now I know a lot of you out there have me beat on weight, and I love reading these threads to see the support and before/after success stories that have been posted. I would too like to drop a few pounds. I have always yo-yo'd in weight, but typically hover around 232. This is the heaviest I can recall ever being. About 2 years ago, when I lived in Philly, they had an amazing rails-to-trails system, I rode all the time, and I had dropped down to around 215. I'd like to try to get down around there again, possibly even 200. I am a huge fan of cycling, have a bunch of bikes, and probably don't deserve a one of them with how little I have been riding up until now. But alas, it is time to turn over a new leaf. I have ridden a solid hour for each of the past 2 days, and consider this my "new start."

So. Goal 1: 235lbs. I will post again when I hit this!

Attached are some pics of my rigs, how I plan on losing the weight. The Fuji is a 2006 Team, full 20sp ultegra gruppo, American Classic Victory wheels. The bike in the trainer is a 2005 Felt F80 (my first road bike), 18sp tiagra/105/ultegra mix, same wheelset. I also have a 2006 Fuji Cross Comp bolted up to a set of American Classic Hurricanes perhaps I will post later. Anyway, glad to be a part of this fine clyde/athena crew!

Nice stable you have there! No need to wait until reach a weight goal to post ya know. Ride reports that share locations or areas might help someone else find a new riding spot or something.

Welcome to the herd!
