Which is my way of saying, "What's going to be the overplayed, annoying ad of this year's coverage?" :p
Happily Cadillac isn't doing regular car ads during the coverage.

I don't know if you had the same ads, but the Heineken spot that was played literally 10 times per hour during the VS/OLN coverage of the 2006 TDF made me vow never to drink one again. I can't imagine a more irritating ad. I was temped to throw my TV out the window.
Not sure about the commercials yet, but seriously, posting where Lance is by showing a blue jersey???? I always new Versus over played the Lance card, and I am not a Lance hater, but this is just a bit over the top.

I am nominating the developers of Tivo to the Nobel Peace-Of-Mind prize. No more 'Born from jets' or Bob and the happy neighbors.

You'd think they could have done the same last year with Wim Van Sevenant so we could keep track of our Lantern Rouge guy! :D

I vote for the "Lance" card.
They have little snippet channel branding of Lance non-stop.
Even after a commercial for frozen pizza, its followed by a channel ID saying "Lance is known to have eaten a pizza before, find out what kind of pizza Lance eats, and be sure to get it!!"
I nominate the male enhancement ads as most annoying.
My favorite TdF ads some years ago were a series for some energy snack which featured people in everyday situations who bonk. One guy was the lead pallbearer on an uphill trek to the gravesite and he bonks, stumbles, falls down taking out the next two pallbearers, the casket falls and rolls, the lid flies open and the body flies out as it continues down the hill.

There may be enough diversity in ads this year to prevent any single one from grating on the nerves. Might just be our market here though.

Same here, I was overjoyed to watch the early stages and not see those annoying ads. It was like waiting for the other shoe to drop for a while until enough time went by for me to relax.
Love the Caddy ads. That redhead is delicious.

That's one series of ads I won't get tired of seeing. Or, more accurately, hearing...
"hate to see you go, but love to watch you leave..."
yum.

They're already starting to overrun the Nature Valley ad with the cute chick on the mountain bike. When I'm getting tired of looking at the cute chick, that's definitely oversaturation.
Those Cadillac ads, however, seem to be the exception to the above rule. I've followed the ad campaign from the beginning and never gotten tired of her. It doesn't hurt that they started slowly the first couple of days, letting me believe that they weren't going to saturate ala Saab.
The Cadillac ads are starting to wear now.
At least they try to make her sexy, and I like the "you hate for it go, but love to watch it leave" line.

Those "Free Credit Report dot com" ads suck.

Is that Smiling Bob?
I think it is and it reminds me of one comercial I am sort of wondering why it isn;t on any more (perhaps that they don't need any business?).
It has a guy very much like SB. He is on a riding mower mowing a front lawn that needs a riding mower. He talks about his nice house, cars and more. It ends with him saying "How do I do it....I'm in debt up to my eyeballs, someone help me please!"
Then the name and phone number of the debt management company comes up.
I miss that add.
