By newbie I thought you were asking about folks who've just learned to ride a bike. Just kidding.

Check out this ride. Come along if interested. It's not Pleasant Hill or Martinez but not too far either.

I live in Oakland but my parents are in Pleasant Hill. I usually do rides on Sunday mornings. I wouldn't have any problems meeting up one of these weekends to go for a ride out there.

Hello Robert.

I ride in the Mtz/PHill area with several others every weekend. We have a group of 12 cyclists that comprise our "peloton," and abilities vary. That being said, the fastest riders always wait for the slower riders at the top of every hill and we make an extra effort to stay together. You are welcome to join us! PM me to get the more info and ride details.

Take care.

Bill

I live near the intersection of PH Road/Alhambra Blvd & Taylor Blvd. Would love to hookup with other riders. I'm training for an August metric and September century. 57, 5'7" 180#.

I live one mile from the northern most gate on the Iron Horse Trail in North Concord. Near the airport.
I cover the roads of Pleasant Hill and Martinez a lot.

You remind me of myself a couple years ago so much that it is spooky.

I got this 2007 model Novara Forza in late 2006

I did my first ever Metric and my first ever Century on it and it gave me the bike bug bad! It is very similar to your new Sirrus Elite. That should be a great re-entry bike for you. My hybrid sure was for me.

I am glad you are reaching out for folks to ride with. This has been a great community for me.

PM me and let's ride sometime.

Hmm, I'm in the area but my riding schedule is based on whenever I'm free (and not too hot out :D) and hard to really say. I'm a 23 y/o male with an '08 Raleigh Grand Prix (silver) so maybe I'll see you around the trails/roads. I like to keep speeds high, though =P
