Rolled out of yoga class and was headed back home for a shower when I passed some old, old Japanese guy walking his folding bike up a hill. It was hotter than heck and I figured he was just taking it easy, then I noticed his back tire was flat.

A quick glance and I realized I had everything in my seat pouch to get this guy rolling again. Tube, pump, lever, 15mm wrench.

He didn't speak any English but I held up the tube and he shook his head in a no thank you gesture. I asked him in Japanese where he lived and he lived a couple miles up the road.

Basically I grabbed his bike and told him it was okay and flipped it upside down and changed his tire and pumped it up.

He tried to offer me a few bucks for the tire but now it was my turn to hold my hand up and shake my head in a no thank you gesture.

I told him to be careful and rode off feeling good I could help the old guy out.

Figured I'd have a flat 4 seconds after I left but I made it home fine and I have a good stash of tubes at the house.

Folder folk are a gentler nicer kind of people, may good come your way.

Haha, good for you. Too bad about the flat afterwards. Reminds me of washing my car and having it rain the same day.

No flat after. I just said I figured I'd have one.

All's well that ends well.

I love it when you're out on your folder and you see a roadie with a flat,
The expression on their faces when you offer them help is priceless.

I need another set of fix-a-flat tools for my folder. I want to see that look.

edit: OP, you rock

Are you sure you didn't change the characters in this story so that you wouldn't get into trouble with your wife?

Now that you mention it the story would have been better had the bike rider been a hot Japanese chick dressed in Anime attire.
