Hello, I am ordering a Strider Running Bike for my 2 1/2 year old son. I would like to find a helmet online because I don't live near a bike shop and don't own a car to get to one easily at the moment. What do I have to look out for when buying a helmet? And could anyone recommend one? Any advice on this issue would be appreciated. Thank you.

I bought an Ascent Buzz from Performance Bike, when my son was 13 months old because it had the smallest ring circumference, but I believe any small size (mine was Xsmall), infant helmet you can get should be all right. Check Amazon if you're going to buy online. I remember a couple of Giro infant helmets with good reviews in terms of size, adjustability and such.

We had the giro infant one and my daughter would sit in the trailer pushing up on it to where she would pull the straps out of it, they were just velcro'ed in. We just bought both kids new helmets made by Bern, they are the more rounded skateboard type so they don't stick back as far behind their heads hitting the seat backs.

Thanks for the tips! I didn't thing about the back hitting the seat. That would seem important since my son will probably fall asleep sometimes.

Did I miss something? Not much chance he'll fall asleep on the Strider Running Bike. Or the helmet pressing against anything while he is on it.

If he is in a trailer or on a seat on your bike, then it might be an issue. But if he is sitting on his own Strider, I'm not sure how that would happen.

Anyway, I have this for my LO

lightweight, very adjustable, well ventilated

Hahaha, I plan on using it for when he rides his Strider and when I put him in a child bike seat. I ordered an orange strider today for him! I am going to look into bike helmets now!
