hi,
We are doing a charity ride for a local organization and it covers 160km x 2days = total 320km (that's a double century). The day is Sept. 5th.
We are weekend riders so far, 40km on saturdays and 80km on sundays. We've done about 130-140km thrice before in the last 6 months but never 160km one day and another 160km the next!
Our concerns are
- food and hydration prior to the day, when should we start and what do we take?
- training, we are thinking of doing another 140km late july (its partly the same route as the charity ride) and another one in mid august. In between, the usual twice a week 40-50km rides. is this good enough?
- bike equipment : I was thinking of raising the handlebar (I have it on 70's style racing height!) and prolly getting a 42 c-c. end to end my shoulders are about 46cm and I'm currently using a 40cm c-c. or should i really be on a 44 c-c??
