Nice work! Oh how I miss the Sac riding/racing scene. Is River City a relatively new team?

Congrats.

Enjoy racing with your teammates.

I have a feeling my upgrade would be granted soon, but I'm not going to put in for it till I have some better placing.

Unlike you, I do have teammates in the 4's. So you're going to be entering a whole new world of bike racing, eh?

Yep. This is our first season: we're discontents from a team that was sponsored by the biggest LBS in town (you can guess). We loved the shop, but it seemed like people would join the team, buy a jersey and then you'd never see them at races. I was the only 4, we have one Cat 1, and the rest are all Cat 3s.

So, now I'm happy to be racing as a domestique, leadout guy, whatever. That will be fun.

Funny. We have a "River City" bike shop/team in Portland. One of our more established teams.

Funnier still, I have one of their jerseys. I bought myself a souvenir a couple of years ago when we were visiting my wife's relatives in Beaverton. I also got a great t-shirt there that says "Work hard. Ride home." Gotta love a shop that promotes racing and commuting!

Congrats... I should go up north more. Are you going to be at San Ardo?

'Fraid that's a bit beyond my 90 minute drive radius (unless I can figure out a way to make it a combined wine tasting trip for the spousal unit).
