Be aware there are stage 4 spoilers in that link.
I always enjoy seeing power numbers for the pros, though. Very humbling...

I'm too fat/unfit/unmotivated/poor for this sport...
seriously, 360w @ 5.1w/kg AVERAGE?

TT bike, so their output is probably lower than it would be on a road bike.
Still really high though.
They were probably above 'ftp' numbers for the TT since it wasn't the full hour effort.

How about averaging 187 bpm for nearly 47 minutes?

Means nothing to me.
My Max HR is higher than 209. I don't even ride with a HRM because it's too variable for me. Though it'd be fun to use sometime.

Well, they didn't show up this morning with a nice taper and a recovery from past efforts, I'll bet that this is fairly close to FTP, or a little low.

It's also avg power in a 9 to 5 man rotation. I guarantee there threshold is higher than 5w/kg

you mean astana won, cancellara is still in yellow, and garmin finished 2nd?

Whoops, skipped over the top part and just looked at graphs and numbers. Tried to edit title but no luck.

How about 190 for 37 minutes? And I'm 40 (I was 39 in this race).

There's a guy on Evo, a smaller guy, whose threshold heart rate is 187. A hummingbird on carbon.

Just because it's the only pissing contest I can win...
40k TT, average HR 200 for 58 minutes.
And back on topic, I'm surprised at the low averages too, but then again, think about a hard group ride and then compare the average power to the normalized power. I'm no expert (far from it...) but from looking at the graphs, it looks like the normalized power would be well above 400 (410-430ish?), which sounds a bit more on target to me.
I can't believe people still try to compare other people's HR to their own. It doesn't mean anything people!

word, I had heart rates that looked like that when I first started racing and was going all out from the gun to stay with the pack... didnt mean I was fast.
