I'm still betting on Alberto. I'd be surprised if Lance can keep up with him going uphill. Most of the other non-Astana contenders lost a bunch of time today.

I think both Leipheimer and Contador will do better in the mtns. than Lance and since Levi is a better time trial rider than Contador, I'm betting on him.

Contador

Contador, maybe Kloden and you can't rule out Lance.

I hope that limb doesn't break with you and I both out their on the end of it. I gotta go with somebody from Astana as well, and I hope it is L.A.

I watched most of the Giro.. And Lance was hanging with everybody right until the very end on the stages that ended in climbs. That's where he lost a minute or 2 each time... If he has improved that little bit from a month ago.... Who knows.... might just be Lance.... No matter who wins..... sure makes for good watching....
<Otherland adds some support to the limb we are out on...... > .......... LOL

The Tour is so much fun to watch. July is definitely my favorite month. Between Wimbledon and the Tour.
It's hard to bet against Contador or Lance. LL and AK have the firepower, but won't win. I think it will be interesting how Vande Velde and Andy Schlek perform in the early climbs.
It's been a great Tour so far and I don't care who wins....as long as it's entertaining.

Yeah but I don't understand half of what they are saying....LOL I am such a noob.
I don't know who will win but I'm getting tired of Versus being "homies" for Lance Armstrong. They have to have him to keep the ratings up.

Yes he gets a lot of coverage but let's face it he is the face of pro cycling and without him the TDF interest level would not be even close to what it is in the US and perhaps Europe as well. It's about money and he brings the money. If you were running Versus would you do it any different? Just asking.

I am afraid that Alberto is the final answer he is an animal and could be around for a long time. It might be a little early but congratulations to him.:thumb: I still give LA a lot of credit for his effort.

Lance is da man.... Win, Lose or Draw ..... what he is doing with Livestrong outweighs everything else!!! Well not just him, but the whole Livestrong organization..
With Alberto taking the yellow it makes ya wonder what type of domestique Lance will make or how the roles will play out and how well they're going to work together with multiple superstars on the team.
Fully agree that Lance is "da man", but this throws different variables into the mix.

drew you are correct this does throw different variables into the mix. LA will still be the man even if he does not finish in the top three. Many things have changed since his seventh win, and age rankes #1.

I kind of think it will play out in the next mountain stage just like it did Sunday. Lance will ride up the mountain with the small group and at some point Alberto will just take off again. Age and four years off the bike has caught up with Lance, but he is still riding as well as or better than 95% of the riders in the race. To take 4 years off and come back and still be in the top 5% of riders is an achievement in and of itself.
