I'm doing an internship for the summer and my boss lent me his bike for this period.... how nice of him!

Anyways, it's a old bike, nothing special. The main problem is the handle bar is too low. It rides more like a road bike, and I can't really get used to it. It's even hard to lift the front wheel to do a short wheelie.

So I have to return the bike to him at the end of summer. What's the cheapest way to counter the problem?

Well more than likely the chainstays are long so that right there effects wheelies. If it is riding like a road bike you are too stretched out? If that is the case get a short stem with a small degree (70mm by 10degrees maybe) and a riser bar.

When I first saw it I thought it will be too long for me, but it was just right, because my boss is just about my size.

How much is a riser bar?

Sorry, what is the stem that you are referring to?

dude. don't spend money on this bike. does it use a quill style stem? it maybe be raisable if it does.
