Hey guys, I am just getting back into the scene. Since getting my drivers license I have sort of ditched my bicycle. Well, its been a while. I am not 27 and ready to start riding again. I used to ride 10-15 miles a day when I was younger, and hope to get back into that routine. I was lucky enough to find a dealer selling a Trek 1.2 that cought my eye. Thought wow, nice trek, and less than 1000.00. So I started researching. But wait, there is a Cannondale CAAD8 iin the window. Long story short, I am getting back in the saddle on a CAAD 8. Not sure what level it is, I looked up the specs for the Optimo 1 and 2 but this just does not seem to match. It has the RS 550 hubs (optimo 1) but after that, it has the Slice Aero forks Ultegra rear derailer and then back to the normal Optimo 1 105. So not sure what the bike really retailed for. It was in the store for 1699.99 then was marked down to 1499.99 and it found its new home for 1100.00 I feel like I did pretty good. It is an 08 model. Unfortunately I did not have a chance to ride tonight as I did not have a helmet(Live on a military base MUST HAVE HELMET). So I will be going out first thing in the AM.

Welcome to the forums. Good idea to get a helmet, cheap insurance for your brain.

That Cannondale will be a great bike for you.

So you live on a military base? Are you in the armed forces? If so, thanks for serving. If not, pass along my thanks to whoever in your family is serving.
