wow, nice looking bikes.

can I ask a couple of construction questions:
what kind of bamboo did you use (does it matter??)
how did you preserve/treat it?
how did you join it together? (those joins look really nice by the way)

I'm intrigued that you build them in your basement. I have no idea when I'll get time to do this, but at some point I want to start tinkering with building/modifying bicycles, if bamboo is a practical material to work with then I'll definitely experiment with it.

thanks for any info

AllenG, your bikes are inspirational. Please share some more photos or give us an overview of what got you started in making bamboo bikes. Thanks

lots of interest AllenG, hope you can share. I'm still marvelling at how smooth and clean those joins are, how in the world did you do that?

The original bamboo thread. A couple of us shared that one when building our frames.
Sources for materials and many other goodies in there.
