Hi:
I am new to posting on this forum, I have a Peugot UE8 Vintage Bicycle and I was interested in selling it
It is a 1970 in excellent condition. I looked on the site that has the puegots and the only difference
with the bike listed and mine is that my bike has a front carrier as well as a rear. The bike was bought by a friend in france when he was touring for a summer.
Thanks for your help
1. Need pics, as it is all about condition.
Need to move to valuation forum.

Here are some photos that I shot of my vintage bike
What's going on with those brake levers? Looks like the bike came with flat bars, and when the prior owner installed drops, he didn't change out the levers to drop style levers.
I would estimate value at $100 as it has some sorting out to do along with some cleanup (big sticker on the top tube, hopefully it is not covering some defect). I would value it lower, but even the cottered crank, steel rim Peugeots seem to hold pretty good value.
Fenders and racks are a plus.

I agree that it might need some cleaning up, The yellow sticker is not covering anything it was just a tag that was put on it to travel with. It sounds like you are not that familar with the bike. The breaks have dual controls. From what I can see it is an unusual bike model.

Those are the standard brakes for that model. I forget what they call them, something French though. They wern't common in the US but that is a French model bike. It's not a UE-8 but that's the closest model that was imported to the US. If you look close you'll probably find that bike has the "Inoxydable" treatment (look at the decal on the downtube just behind the head tube lug) on the tubing which a UE-8 would not have. It appears to be in pretty good condition. The only obvious condition issue I see is the with the headlight. I'm not the Peugeot expert but I'm going to take a SWAG and say it might go for $200 - $250 on eBay. Replace the rims with a set of Grand Bois in 700C and you'd have a very sweet ride. I don't think you could find a production bike of that style very easily. A Rene Herse would be a much finer quality bike but would be priced accordingly. I'd buy it in a heart beat.

Hi Kommisar:
Thanks for the info on the bike. You are right about the brakes and everything else. It is a fine bike.
I wonder if it is possible to get the cover for the front light or if you can recommend a place?

Check eBay periodically. It might take a while but a complete headlight should turn up. You might want to create a saved search that will email you when a Peugeot light comes up.
