I've been through a few seats,, seems I'm having a problem finding one that fits just right,,, I've been to a LBS for a simple fitting,,, just wondering what type of seat might be worth a look,,,,,,,, I'm 250lb, but working on taking more weight off,,,,,, down 21lbs so far this season,,,,,,,,,,,

P.S - I have a scaitic nerve issue that pops up sometimes,,,,,,,

thanks

I'm a big fan of the Selle De Italia TransAm. I have it on my road and Mtn bikes. For reference I'm 6'1" and weigh in at a squishy 260lbs.

Getting the thing angled properly is crucial. If the nose is too far down you'll slide forward and put too much pressure on your arms from pushing yourself back; if the nose is to high there will be too much perineal pressure.

I couldn't get the B-17 to work for me; it felt like I was straddling a baseball bat. I ended up sending the thing to Monarch McLaren (http://www.selleanatomica.com/dollar%20buyer.htm) to cut a Selle Anatomica style slot in it. It's now far (far) more comfortable than before, and even better than the B-17N Imperial (http://www.brookssaddles.com/en/Shop_ProductPage.aspx?cat=saddles+-+road+%26+mtb&prod=B17+Narrow+Imperial) that I tried.

Personally, I don't have the patience to put up with pain while trying to break in a bicycle saddle.
