My pastor, my younger son, and I plan to meet up with these guys next Thursday, for the segment of their ride from Carlsbad to the Community Resource Center in downtown Encinitas. If any of you fellow San Diegans are free that morning, you are most cordially invited to join us. The rendezvous point is the park at the northeast corner of Cannon Rd. & Carlsbad Bl. = Coast Highway 101, at 0900 on Thursday 16 July.

I plan to ride Capo #1, and I'll see if my son will ride my red-white-and-blue mountain bike. Both bikes should be pretty easy to spot in the crowd, although not quite as distinctive as the three pastors' bamboo-framed triple.

I rode about 5 miles yesterday morning with the Tour de Revs and a friend from the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition. It is fun to watch the three pastors accelerate from a dead stop, pushing off three times with their respective left legs to a 3-count from the captain. The bike attracted some attention along the old Coast Highway 101, with folks yelling things like "Awesome bike."
