Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

A friend and I will be in town for a week, He needs to keep putting on miles for a big ride in France later in August[about 65 miles/day 7 times in of 8 days]. I'll be too busy to hit the roads with him.

Is there anyone from the Muncie area here that can be company for him on some 50-65 mile rides?
Or know of someone else that can?

Thanks!
Dennis 'n CT

I could possibly do it a couple days. I can't do it every day. How fast is he looking at riding?

I'm trying to locate some riding groups near there as well.

We ride 30 mile rides at at about 17-19 mph.
I found a club in Richmond: http://www.richmond.cyclers.com/
and The Delaware club at: http://mywebpages.comcast.net/auxier-jay/dcc/

I found posts from you in a search I did earlier. They were from '02, I didn't know if you were still around. Great that you are!

Yes, I was gone for a while. Well, until just a few days ago. I'm trying to become more active in all the forums I'm in.

30 miles at 17-19 is doable for me. I may have to look into the Delaware club. I'm also thinking of starting a group in New Castle, about 20-30 mins. south of Delaware County.

Come down to Indy, and do some CIBA rides. We get lots of people on weekends, and teh weekday training rides are awesome. Here's the link-------> www.cibaride.org

The good news, he'll be using his mountain bike fitted with street tires and drop bars so he expects his ride speed to be a little lower.

He can't go out whenever he wants as his kids activities require his presence at times too.

kobyj, send me a message with your phone number and I'll have him call you. I talked with him last night on that.

bpohl, I wish we had a club like that around here. I've already sent him the link to your club and the Delaware one.
