Haul 40lbs of bike up a cliff?

My wife and I started up a paved path, in Earl Bales park, this turned into a broken paved path, then a gravel path, then dirt, then got narrower and narrower, then got a little too technical, so walk the bikes then it headed up a near vertical climb probably close to a 4m rise over a 1m run (cliff), it was either ride back down 2km of climb or go up the cliff, so we went up the cliff, grabbing a tree root with one hand and the front wheel of a bike with the other, I managed to get my bike up, went back down to help wifey get her bike up. Note to self, don't take that path again, ever....

That sounds like an awesome ride!

I would bet rides were you seriously question the wisdom of continuing - and continue anyway - are sometimes the most memorable rides of all.

I noticed you like to take pictures... do you have any to share from your ride? I lived in TO for about a year but I never discovered that park. It looks cool.

My wife took some photos, kinda glad I didn't have my camera actually, it normally rides in the pannier that was on the bottom side in this case

As for the Park it's on the South East Corner of Bathurst and Sheppard, not exactly the nicest part of town for riding, but I live about 3km away.....

Yeah, I don't think my bike would survive a 5m drop with 100kg of clyde in the saddle, especially if I landed on the front wheel, the shock is getting gimpy now, in that case it would probably self destruct. 99.999999999999% sure if I would have approached that from the top, I would never consider going down there.

I get to do this one four times in a row on Sunday:

I can get the dirt bike up this one, so not sure if it qualifies for "cliff" status:
