I saw someone was selling a Specialized Allez (hot pink!) with Shimano 105 set on it for $175. Here's the details:

Crankset Specialized Pro
Chainwheel 52/42/30
Bottom Bracket Shimano Octalink
Chain Shimano HG73
Front Derailleur Shimano 105
Rear Derailleur Shimano 105
Rear Cogs Shimano 105, 9-speed: 12-25

It doesn't have STI brake levers though -- just normal brake levers. It has the shifting set up on the aerobars.

First question: is this set worth $175? Is it worth $100?

Second question: anyone know what year the hot pink Specialized Allez was made?

If its all in good shape, that is a fair price. Extreme deals for the same could be found at the very rare yard sale or flea market. Simular soounding set-ups have been going on ebay for $220.00 to $280.00 (shipping included).

About a month ago I went to a yard sale a saw a white with hot pink trim Cannondale with complete 105. The alluminum frame was manufactured in 1987 for the 88' model year. Going on that trend, I'd think your bike is about 15 years old, others will give you a better idea, I'm sure.

Does the frame have down tube mounts?
