"The 33"-Road Bike Racing - How bad is an aerobar bottle?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Like the Profile Aerodrink system or new Bontrager aero bar mount bottle. I really like a drink while doing TT's, I've tried a rear carrier, while I think it's more aero then a frame mount, grabbing a bottle and taking a drink is not a smooth process.

How long are the TTs? I've found that I really don't NEED to take water along on any TT under 40K, even one's I've done in the desert!
However, if you're looking for just a splash in your mouth to fight off "cotton-mouth", you might want to look into just mounting a gel flask right behind your stem and filling it with either water or an energy drink. It'll hold just enough to "cut the cotton" when you take a swig at the turnaround...plus, it will be in a position (right behind the stem) that might actually enhance your aerodynamics. :thumb: Just a thought...

The answer, in most cases is a single bottle on the downtube. The Arendale bottles tend to make a nice fairing mounted on the donwtube.
