Why is it they have a female frame? I could think of a few reason but not sure, I have a mint 3 speed ladies frame and a mint men's frame and the second trike's paint job is a huge mess but the rear end can be put on another bike.

I guess often a trike is bought becouse of some sort of disability. If so, you do not really want a mens frame do you? It is a steptrough frame, not a ladies bike. It is not like you are wearing a dress is it?? You are man enough to ride a steptrough frame- right? :D:roflmao2:

Might flip during fast cornering and some old folks can't leap top tube and land on feet as well as some younger riders can.

I decided to put the nice ''step through" frame lol. i'll post a picture of it, the rear end just needs some painting and the blue paint removed from rims and fenders

That'll work out best, you normally step thru to get on a trike anyways. Also I was always wearing heavy work boots when riding my Worksman so swinging your leg up and around the saddle is more difficult.

Yeah, you can't tilt a trike to swing a leg over it. Same reason why many cargo bikes have step-through frames. If it's loaded heavy it's a real pain to tilt it enough and not let it fall over.

Those racing trikes are pretty cool, a local buy used to have one a long time ago. No rear brakes and very spindly, very much described by the one in the image above.

You might note that a lot of the foreign pedicabs were based on men's bikes.

I have seen the Jack Taylor conversions, used to race against a veteran rider when I was a junior and he was wicked fast on it, his twin brother rode a track bike and was even faster.

Those Roman Road conversions are interesting.:thumb:

In the US a trike is primarily utilitarian and primarily sold to elderly folks or for industrial use so a step through frame makes sense. If you buy the conversion kit you can put on anything you like.

Then you have the tadpole trikes (http://www.catrike.com/)...never turned one over to see if there were male and female versions:innocent:
