Had to get the wool sweaters out for this weeks commuting. It's getting nipply at night, down under 50F. Didn't we just celebrate the first day of summer? Isn't this Minnesota? Does this make sense to be wearing wool sweaters to ride a bike? If this is summer what is winter going to be like?
High today 64, low tonight 43.

I think there are a couple of days in August - 1 or 2 that I don't have some sort of extra gear in my bag. Today I've got a fleece vest and long sleeve t-shirt - probably need the vest in the morning :(

Okay, not to be labor this winter in frickin' July stuff, but it was damp and cold tonight on the commute home. My friggin' slicker collects water, and my pockets were full and everything was soaked. ARGH!

ARGH!!!
Come on winter! I am so stoked for a below freezing ride! It is something I can't get on a trainer in front of the air conditioner.

When it's 100 degrees and 98 percent humid I'm blaming all you people. Enjoy it while we've got it.

Luckily, this summers been pretty nice. Not too many days over 90, and low humidity...

I want fall back. Not really looking forward to winter, but I at least want fall.

Okay, I need to retract my previous statement about enjoying this crap weather while we have it. This is not a plesant forecast, esp. for August:

"This Afternoon
Cold. Cloudy with occasional light rain and drizzle. Highs around 60. Northwest winds 10 to 20 mph with higher gusts. "

This stuff from the National Weather Service pretty much says it all:

Record cold low for the Twin Cities tied. This mornings low of
47 ties the record set in 1968.

... Flirting with breaking records again today...

The cold weather that settled across Minnesota and western Wisconsin
several days ago continued to maintain its chilly grip on the region
today. Under partly cloudy to cloudy skies and brisk northwest
winds... temperatures this afternoon in central and south central
Minnesota will reach the upper 50s to middle 60s. In Wisconsin...
thicker clouds and occasional light rain will keep temperatures a
few degrees cooler. Daytime temperatures at these levels are more
typical of October than mid August... when high temperatures normally
rise into the 80s.

With temperatures only rising into the middle 50s to middle 60s this
afternoon... several stations around the area will be setting new
record low highs for today.

Here are the current record low high temperatures for August 11th
from selected cities with available past climate records across
central Minnesota into west central Wisconsin...

Twin Cities... ..65 /1964/
St. Cloud... ... .63 /1964/
Eau Claire... ... 67 /1964/
Alexandria... ... 62 /1964/

Willmar... ... ... 66 /1994/
Little Falls... .71 /1966/
Fairmont... ... ..62 /1911/

Yesterday... August 10th... new record low high temperatures were set
at the following locations...

It looks like there will be some relief this weekend. Umm... 70s.
