My plans for riding this past weekend were cancelled due to sickness in the family! My wife and my son got colds on Friday, so no riding for me on Saturday! BUMMER! I had to stay home and take care of em. That was alright, but I was forced to only ride my road bike on Sunday!

Is it just me, or does anyone else get real frustrated and easily agitated when you don't ride for a long time? It seems I'm more on edge this week than last week and the only reason that comes to mind is I didn't ride.

Or maybe, because I had planned to go riding, but couldn't! Kinda like dating at age 17 again! You know, your plans and her plans don't meet! The term "Blue Balls" comes to mind, but with more of a cycling reference the term should more appropriately be "Blue Ball-Bearings"

Anyways, I'm just stressing out about nothing and frustrated with everything! I NEED TO GO FOR A RIDE AND CAN'T

This is driving me CRAZY!

Well enough of that! Rant Over!

I feel your pain. Riding is a great stress reliever. Actually any exercise is but doing something you love makes it all the better. And having a ride cancelled is the worst. I've had rides planned and then had to work.:irritated But now the next one will feel all the better!:)

HA!!
Blue Ball Bearings, I love it! I will use that one.

I find that I do not have a clear mind if I miss my daily ride (which I have been doing for the past week with teperatures down in the teens). It's as if the focus required for riding the trail empties your head of all other thoughts for awhile, which is soo stress releiving for me. I feel I have better judgement, and a more calm attitude the whole day through. This is not something that could be acheived merely by any cardio activity either. Running a treadmill is still mindless and I can worry about bills or my relationship with my girlfriend or school or whatever. When I hit the trail I leave all that behind and my world consists of me, my bike, and whole lotta trees. YAY MTBing!!!

I know how you feel man. It has been raining non-stop here for weeks. I am so sick of Germany and the damn rain. I did have a kick *** snowboarding trip to Austria last weekend. 2-3ft deep powder rocks! I would take a good single track ride over snow boarding anyday

BTW - I hate computers :crash:
