I'm hoping to start a new cycling club in Allen, TX. The club will be
called Collin County Cycling Project. CCCP will borrow a Russian theme
for its logo and jersey. I have started working on those and will have
something to share in a couple of weeks.
We will have our first ride this Saturday, July 11th at 7AM at Celebration Park in Allen, TX.
Anyone and everyone is welcomed to join us.
We will go about 30 miles at a moderate pace.
I was hoping the club would promote safe riding in Collin County and
will also encourage people to explore commuting to work/school.
Please come and join us.

Ya know, with a name such as CCCP the "Hammer and Cycle" thing works well...............
I'll miss this one, but will catch you guys on a later one.

I grew up in Allen, lots of great riding around there. I'll let my dad know there's a club starting, he might just be interested!

Well, I'm trainer bound for about a month with a nicely sprained MCL in the right knee and general selling and inflamation in the left knee from an older injury and surgeries.
Got'em both drained and shot up today, so I got that going on for me.

Okay, looks like we got no takers. No problem. We'll try another weekend.

Pedal on over for ~53 miles to Valley Ranch and back from Spring Creek and Coit at 7... If I weren't leading, I'd have joined you in Allen... Not motivated to herd cats tomorrow.

I would do it but I'm headed over to Weatherford for the Peach Pedal. Can't do it next weekend either, but when I have the time I'd be in.

Got up too late to join in but will try the next time around.....
I'm the Allen dad in eatadonut's post, and new to bike forums. Hi!
Sorry I missed you this morning. Quick question - what does "moderate pace" mean to you? I do okay, but am strictly a casual rider, not hardcore, and have not done groups before.

Welcome guiguy. I assure you that when I get off the DL I'll be more than happy to redefine "moderate" to any pace and/or distance you want to ride.
I think if we can get at 2 or 3 folks who want to go on a casual ride we can swing it. I know the area well enough to lead a small group.
Sounds good - thanks, txvintage. Here's to a quick recovery!

Well, I did 8 minutes at 6.5 mph on a staitonary recumbent at PT today. At this rate I'll be ready for the 2012 HTH.
Three more weeks is the goal.
