Foo - POSEUR - the meaning?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Recently, I joined bikeforums.net. I use it for information and enjoy getting to know the cycling community... or at least I think I'm enjoying it.

I had never seen the word POSEUR(S) before coming here. Please define it.

I said think because my few posts have been met with mildly-hostile replies. It could be just a coincidence, just got off on the wrong foot with a couple members, but I wonder... are there a lot of POSEURS here?

Look forward to your replies.

OK, so I'm one. It appears I'm not alone.

Maybe big forums are largely about http://lmgtfy.com/?q=banter.

it's decent when the BF search is broken or won't let you search for words or numbers under 3 characters.

If you put more emphasis on your question, using ALLCAPS with bold and colored font, people might be more willing to step forward and declare their poseurhood.

try asking the same question in SS/FG or road subforums. now that will give you some really witty replies.

Only poseur would ask this... what is SS/FG?

nope, just say'n this place isn't even close to mild.

if you pose this same question over there...

Seal stuck in the middle of Sahara desert? might be the analogy.
