To you Lifers: thank you for your service!
9 years of moving the family every time you turn around was enough for me. And that included some wonderful assignments: Ft. Sam and the Presidio.

Royal Marines but it was so long ago that it should be put in the past- except for the experience.
But I was a Rock climbing instructor- and there isn't much use for one of those in the Desert. What was usefull though was my main occupation and this is why I saw the world, even the desert and on board ships, over the 5 years I was involved in it.
And one of the best skives you could ever get into. The boxing team.

USN, '71-77. Purchased my first 10 speed bike right after I joined in '71, a Peugot AO8. $105 - I remember the price to this day.

And for what its worth there was a thread on the Touring Forum about a possible Wounded Warrior cross country ride for next year. Nothing has been decided yet but veterans might want to take a look at the thread. The URL is http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=552865.
