Does anybody have one that I could borrow? None of the shops around have the special tool and my freehub needs a rebuild. I wonder why they couldn't have just used a 10mm hex.

I don't but my LBS does. You going to be in Birmingham AL any time soon?

You may want to contact Harris Cycles. I seem to remember that SB indicated that they used to loan this tool with the 8s freehub body hub transplant. They no longer have the body in stock, but maybe the tool?

The correct tool would be a Shimano tool model TL-FH10 "Freehub body removal tool for FH-7400 / FH 7260" ... (aka: Shimano part no. 120 0907). Shimano made several other models... but none fit the 7400 freehubs.

yellowjeep here is a larger image (442 x 702 and now annotated) if you want to print it up for your Holy Grail quest. The original illustration was only 25 mm tall, scanned from a Shimano spec sheet page from 1989.
