Professional Cycling For the Fans - Peloton time
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
When the peloton crosses the finish line as a large group, how do they determine the time assigned to every rider in the group? Is it first across the line? last? average?

First. And after that as long as there is no break in the pack all get the same time.
This goes way back to hand timing without stopwatches. But it makes sense as it would be very dangerous if people in the pack were fighting for time at the end.
There have been like 10 threads about this in the past 3 days.
Bah. Guess I didnt search right. Thanks for the reply!
