I've currently got a lower end Giro "Sport" helmet and I find my head getting hot. It's not unbearable, but it does feel like I've got a hat on. I live in a very moderate Central CA climate, so the heat is never unbearable, but I'm just wondering if getting a better vented helmet like the Atmos would be worth it to improve comfort and thereby "improve" performance. Any thoughts?

my personal fave is the MET Estro, but the atmos is a worthy consideration if it fits..

Riding faster = More wind!! :)
But seriously, I got a BELL that fit my head very well after trying some old Giro, felt much more comfortable, although it was mostly due to fit, but it did vent better.

Anybody bought stuff off bikebling.com? I found an Ionos for about the same price as the Atmos.

Lazer O2 Road.

I have one. Much cooler than old Bell.

$100.

OP, if you can try on some helmets to see that they're comfortable, it'll be a lot easier to pick one out.

Agreed on the big rear vents recommendation. Half of good ventilation is getting air out of the helmet.

Don't just look at the holes - actually give it a test ride. You can't determine anything about airflow by just looking at it.

Yea I noticed mine doesnt have much in the back, which is probably why its not the greatest for cooling.
