Anybody else have experience with using a Rocky Mounts Noose SL/SLX on the factory crossbars on a Subaru Outback? I just bought a '05 outback XT and I noticed my old Thule 589 doesn't work with the profile of the factory bars. The only mfgr that doesn't use the silly extra bar thing like the Thule 889 is a Rocky Mounts Noose SL/SLX. It uses a wide steel plate as the feet.
I got an email from RM and the person said he has had NO problem at all on hundreds of Subaru installs, just wondering if anybody else has any first hand experience using these on Subaru wagons?
I have to decide whether to buy the $80 Noose or the $150 Crossroad with LB50s and my current Thule 589 Velo Vise holder. I don't like uprights too so that is not an option.
Thanks,
Jay
