Ok so I bought the Park PCS-9 Repair stand. When assembling it (following directions) I go to put in the screw/bolt that holds the bottom assembly to the vertical pole, and find that the screw is not there. So I think to mysef, well no big deal really it will just stay flat. Well when I put my bike on the stand the bottom assembly starts sliding up the vertical pole causing the whole stand to tip towards the floor.

I know now that I need that screw/bolt. My question is weather to contact park and ask "exuse me, but umm... where is my bolt?' or just go to the hardware store and find on that does the job. For those of you that have said stand in question, is there anything special about that bolt/screw that would require it to come from park?

Thanks for your time.

Ray

I have the PCS-9 and love it, it's a real sturdy good value stand. It can fold "easily" :p and fit in the trunk of your car. I know wscrew you are talking about, and your stand is unusable without it, it is an hex screw and I think you could get one from a hardware store just by bringing the bottom tube and ask for one that fits, but still I would ask where you bought the stand for a replacement screw. Note that when I unpacked mine, I found bits of nuts and bolts falling off the box, so maybe you should check the corrugated box again and the area where you unwrapped the stand. Normally, this screw should have been in a little plastic pouch.
Good luck.

you can go to a hardware store and get one but i would just contact park tool...they will definitly give you one free of charge (i broke the little plastic sleeve for adjustment and they are shipping one for me as we speak). I will agree with Cycliste that it is a good value stand.
