Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

When I checked Specializeds website it appears both teams ride the Tarmac SL2. However I noticed that Cancellara's yellow frame had the S-Works decals instead of Specialized (it was kinda hard to miss), while QuickStep defiantly had the standard looking SL2 frame with the Specialized decals.
Anyone know if the teams are riding different frames? I am guessing they are not, but just put the S-Works decals on Cancellara's yellow bike for a little extra exposure.
Cancallera could very well have been using a different bike specially for the yellow jersey because it would be on Camera a lot.
Or they could have just stuck on an S-Works decal on a different frame. Its a moving advertisement seen my millions!
As far as I know both teams are on the SL3 (http://www.roadbikeaction.com/fly.aspx?layout=content&taxid=67&cid=1792)
There have been discussions over the years about riders using whatever kit they're given/want/need and then having it badged to sell whatever it is the sponsors want to advertise. I'm not saying that's happening here or even that it does happen, but it's something to bear in mind when asking this sort of question.

This is true indeed.
When I was an amateur, I got a training bike made by a local shop, decal-ed with Coppi stickers, and my racing bike was a real Coppi. Some smaller teams do this coz they are poor little monkeys.

Interesting...Specialized needs to update their website. Thanks.
They are showing the 2010 models yet. There is a dealer event next week where they are all briefed on the new line, it will probably be updated after that...

Referred to as 'brown wrappesr'.
Good rider gets what he wants; sponsor puts on decals.
