Sorry if this is a repost but I just discovered it and freaked out. This would be awesome for my 900sqft apartment living lifestyle.

The trailer folds and stores on the bike until it's needed at which point it unfolds and pulls like a standard cargo trailer. 10lbs seems a little heavy but it's still a great idea for those of us who do the car-free thing but don't have much extra space for a full sized trailer.

Why do people always use a case of beer as their metric? :D

I agree it a cool idea, but the problem I would have is it cuts into the bike's ability to concurrently utilize panniers..

It needs to carry more than two panniers to make it worthwhile. Either that or mount without a rack and be significantly cheaper.

Did you see how splayed the wheels were on that thing with just a case of beer!

Not a new idea. I have an ExCargo that was made in the UK probably 15 years ago that is very similar. I will try to get pictures when I get back home in September.

Funnily enough I started sketching a "lives on the bike" folding trailer about ten years ago when I originally built the trailer that I still currently use.

Interesting... there are some issues with the execution, but they're far from insurmountable.

It was the rear panniers question that was my original stumbling block at the time, and is the reason that I chose to go the way that I did with my fixed frame rather than folding frame bike trailer. I also lived in a very large house at the time, with a double and a single garage, along with workshop space of a similar size, and so storage space was not an issue. I was using a very heavy set of pannier bags that were also unsuitable for my requirements and these were permentaly assigned to my bicycle. Looking back I should have continued along the route of adaptability, optimumisation and function, rather than just function, and as is often said; hind sight is always the best sight. Maybe I should have persisted with the design sketches, for a mounted fold away trailer, and used front panniers instead.

I now see this as a challenge ..... ..... and I love a challenge! Out with a pencil, sketch book and calulator methinks

The prob I see here is the size of the thing. I already have that carrying capcity (maybe more) in milk crate and panniers; which are already located in the place that thing stows. Except they probably weight less, collapse narrower, and don't effect manuverabilitythe way towing a trailer does.

So its cute, I like how it folds up, but its redundant; I wouldn't pay money for it.
