I recently purchased a set of Kreitler Challenger rollers. How long can I expect the bearings in the rollers to last? What about the elastic band that connects the middle and front rollers?

I recently purchased a set of Kreitler Challenger rollers. How long can I expect the bearings in the rollers to last? What about the elastic band that connects the middle and front rollers?
Well, let's see... I bought my Kreitler rollers in 1982 and rode the crap out of them every winter. I have no ideas how many miles they have on them, but it's zillions.
I finally broke a belt around 1999 or so. I've never replaced the bearings. I did repaint them some time in the early '90s.
