Hi Everyone,
After reading so many positive reviews on the Brooks B 17 I am anxious to try one. My San Marco Regal just isn't that comfortable 20-25 miles. Now for the trivial question, honey brown or basic black on a red and white bike? Thanks for your opinions.

That is indeed a tough one! The honey brown goes great with the color red, but not with white. Whenever I see a red bike, I see it with honey brown saddle and handlebar tape. However, honey brown tape would clash with the white hoods. :( the next logical choice would be go with the black saddle and switch the handlebar tape and hoods out to black. The downside to this is that's an awful lot of black when you factor in the tires.

Honey :)
Black seats and handlebar tape on a red bike are faster.

You have to keep the saddle white—that bike is too good-lookin'.

I agree, white is really the only way to go with that bike.
I just ordered a Cardiff Cornwall saddle...like this one http://cgi.ebay.com/Cardiff-Cornwall-Classic-Leather-Bicycle-Saddle,-White_W0QQitemZ160344372529QQcmdZViewItem (http://cgi.ebay.com/Cardiff-Cornwall-Classic-Leather-Bicycle-Saddle,-White_W0QQitemZ160344372529QQcmdZViewItem...its) ..its the basically the same dimensions as a Brooks B.17 but Cardiff makes it in White. I've never tried a Cardiff saddle before, but it definitely fits the look.

Thanks everybody for your input. I know that these are not real world type decisions, but sometimes hobby/sport take over. I finally decided on the cheapest honey brown b 17 on e-bay. (Love the look). I'll give it the 500 mile "break-in" or so and then decide if I need to change hoods and tape to match. Thanks again for your help.

Honey - I bought a black one to go with my black bike, and REALY, REALLY wish that I had bought the honey for the contrast.
But, then again, I think it's gorgeous to look at!
