Texas - Tour watching party in Plano - On the BIG screen!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Come watch the Tour de France on a big screen....a really big screen.

Sunday, July 19 from 1-4pm your PBA is hosting a watching party at the Studio Movie Grill in Plano. We are renting out a 200 seat theater and inviting all to attend. Some of our partners and sponsors will be donating things to raffle off which we will be doing several times during the broadcast.

This is Stage 15, a 220km trek through the mountains with a mountain top finish (Nothing but the best for us). and very well could determine the eventual winner. Come see the tour like you were watching a movie. The Studio Movie Grill offers great food, cold drinks and the timing of this doesn't interfer with any rides...just pedal faster on Sunday morning.

The problem is that there are only a couple of hundred seats and we are promoting this not only to our members but through the bike shops and other clubs in the area. For the $5 donation to get in, it will sell out fast. You can sign up now from the front page of our website. (There was a mistake that may be already corrected. The event is on Sunday, the 19th.)

It should be fun, about the right time in the race for things to start getting really interesting and being a mountain top finish someone is going to try to make a major move.

So are they starting late that day or are you showing tape-delayed coverage? Most of the stages have been finishing around 10-11am central time so far.

It will be tape-delayed. Don't know the details, but I'm sure there are several reasons for the time slot for the event.

Great, looking forward to seeing some BikeForums representation there. I'll try to remember to wear my blue BikeForums.net T-shirt (special edition Mod blue! :D), so if you see me there feel free to say hello. Should be a good show, if it isn't, a few drinks will help right?

Make sure and save a seat for Howzit. He has a huge man-crush on Lance Armstrong, and I am sure he would appreciate seeing him on a honkin' big ol Texas sized screen.
