What are some good places in the NE USA to tour around on a bike?

One of my dreams tours is to go to Vermont to the Ben and Jerry's headquarters.
Then again I like ice cream as much as I do cycling.
I've also hear there is a lot of touring done around Lake Champlain.
I have a few places I like to take a day off. Middlbury VT, North Conway NH, Brunswick Me, Camden Me, Bar harbor Me.
There are others, Portland, Burlington, etc would also be good.
Then I plan my trip around them.
This depends on what sort of tour you want. You could fly into Portland, ride to Burlington and fly out.
We have started in Burlington, taken the ferry to NY, and ridden around the lower half of Lake Champlain. Don't miss the fort.
We are going to rent a van this summer, drive to Bangor and then ride back down the coast. Lots of options on that one.
Pick some places you want to go, and make a trip that includes some of them.
Let me know, and if I have been there, I'll try to offer some suggestions. I do suggest staying off the coast in Southern Maine from about Saco down. Too many tourists not looking where they're driving...
