Just wanted to post a few of these for all who rode. I did the 40 miler. Discretion became the better part of valor. It was hot and my old heart was running at a pretty high rate so I chickened out and did the shorter route when I came to decision point.

The start. The Texas Irish were present as you can see.

This guy said he should leave me an email. Maybe he's a forum member or someone knows him.

This guy was dragging a boom box.

And perhaps someone will recognize me and my old Trek, soaking up some shade about 2 miles before the end. I get a lot of comments on the water bottles. Some folks don't know what a touring bike is (really).

Ah, so that's why we only had 6 riders on our club's breakfast ride yesterday!

The guy with the boom box is Bikin' Mike, www.bikinmike.com (http://www.bikinmike.com). He organizes some rides (Tour Dallas, Collin Classic, Happy New Rear) and shows up with his sound trailer at quite a few other rides.

I tried to do a 200k ride yesterday, and quit a little before the halfway point due to heat, wind, and being tired. But on the way to it, I saw a couple of cars headed west on I-20 with bicycles.

Yeah- Bikin' Mike is cool. You gotta hand it to the guy, he really loves cycling. (and his music!)

I didn't know that. I'm on his email list but we live out here near P.K. so I didn't recongize him, though now the pic of he and the trailer look familiar. We do Tour Dallas every year.

I have a few pics, including one of my computer after it had cooled off in the shade. It reads 106. It had read 108.5 about 1/2 mile prior to me stopping in the shade in major pain from my toe.
