Bicycle Mechanics - switch triple components to Schwinn

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. I have a 12-speed Schwinn World Sport w/ Cro-Mo(4130) lugged frame (I paid $25 at thrift shop). I was commuting 12-miles round trip with a mile long steep hill (what comes down must go up). I looked for a triple (I can't afford the new bikes). I found one at a pawn shop for less than $100 -a Miyata! It's a Cro-Mo double butted frame. It rides great! Like a racer. But I get toe overlap on the front wheel (27" w/1-3/8" tires). I want to do some light touring. The wheel base of the Schwinn is 2" more than the Miyata. I liked the ride on the Schwinn. I want to put fenders on and that is one of the concerns of toe overlap (clipless pedals at $150 isn't the answer). I want to put the components from the Miyata on the Schwinn. My major question is, will the bottom bracket from the Miyata work on the Schwinn?
Thanks,
Robert

You have to be careful with old Schwinns. Sometimes aftermarket parts or parts from other bikes of the same era will bolt right up and sometimes they won't.
