Well, trying to get back into shape,, down 21lbs from 270lbs in the last 6 weeks,,,, always liked riding,, when I was in the military (germany) I used to ride all the time,, had a job that I worked mostly 3 on and 3 off which gave me some great free time,,, did a lot of riding in those days,,,,,,,, I let myself go some over the past 8 years and decide it was time to replace the old bike,,,,,,,, So between eating right and exercising, I look forward to getting back into shape,,,,,,, Just wanted to share,,,,,,,,, I read a lot of the post on this forum,, and find a lot of good information,,,,,,,,, thanks,,,,,,,,,,
I ended up with a Jamis Allegro 2 (2009) white,,,,, made some changes,,,,,,,
* put on a Brooks B17,,,, have the Leather Brooks grips on order,,,,,,,
* put Mavic Ksyrium Equipe wheels on,,,
* put Cont Touring Plus rubber on,,,
* Added a 105 crank as I'm still a big guy,,,,,,,,,,,250lbs and dropping,,,,,,,,,, :)
* put clipless pedals on,,,,
* Upgraded my 13 year old helment to a (LAS),,, very nice fit,,,,
* Went with some new gloves,, Specialized Geo with the gel,,, feel very good,,,,,,,,,
* added a Topeak pack to the back,,,,,,,,,,,,,
* went with a Mavic Wintech ES wireless system with the cadence,,, seems to be working well,,,,,
Been riding as much as I can,,, took a good ride today in a 20 MPH head wind,,,,, that was a good workout,,,
thanks
