Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - chainring Question
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. I have a triple chainring crankarm. Where can I expect to attach my chainring? To the middle or outer position? I don't yet have a bottom bracket so I'm not sure what my chainline will look like yet; do triple crankarms make awkward singlespeed conversions?

You can use either position depending on your chainline needs, I've used both on different builds.

The chainline will depend on whether it is a road or mtb crank arm and also whether you are using the bottom bracket spindle it was designed for.
Sheldon has a handy chart that may be of use to you.
