I have an old Trek frame I'd like to build up with barcons. The problem is that it doesn't have downtube shifter braze-ons where cable stops can be mounted because it used clamp-on shifters. Do clamp-on cable stops exist? Is there another alternative (besides using downtube shifters)?

Looks like I solved my own problem. I found these: http://www.rivendellbicycles.com/webalog/shifters_derailleurs/17109.html

Don't forget cable adjusters. I'm using the in-line variety. You can also use adjuster which mount right at the cable stops. But these adjusters are really not necessary if you're going to using the friction mode.
