Neat to see coverage in the Journal! Not the bike I would've chosen for them to review (well, duh) as you can kind of tell the author wasn't blown away by the power-to-price ratio. . . If I were trying to impress someone, I wouldn't put them on a 28v, 250W bike.

Very nice article. I still think we you're better off getting a lighter bike and buying the Bionx system off the net and assembling it yourself.

interesting, that one is not a Fully sanctioned BionX
only the rear Wheel and computer controller is from BionX
the battery is by OHM, it's like a customized version or Reseller version of the BionX
the reviewer kept referencing everything as being from OHM as it should be and not confuse it with BionX.
The price is a total rip off, my entire set original from BionX PL350 was just about $1600
they are charging way too much for that 450w battery vs. the 350w battery

It's interesting how they managed to cut Bionx out of the battery! I wonder if anyone on this fourm is doing the same?
I figure, the Bionx cost $1,600.00 so the bike is worth $500.00 which is reasonable.

Yes it does rege. Someone use stand-alone cycle analyst from ebikekit to prove this. see here http://fusinmotors.com/distribution/regen-brake-t29.html#p94
As it is freewheel motor the rider could not feel anything when it happens, but the analyst tells you the existence of "Negative voltage" charging the battery when you brake the bike. Surely it is impossible for the bike battery to produce this "Negative voltage", the only answer is frorm the motor.
