Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Australian stunt biker Robbie Maddison took an unusual route across the Thames in London by leaping across the raised roadway across Tower Bridge.
The stunt took place in the middle of the night but still drew a large crowd of spectators.

Is that a vehicular traffic bridge? It's awful narrow, with only two lanes.

Its narrow because its old. Tower bridge (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tower_Bridge), which opened in 1894.

That's the bridge tourists always think is London Bridge.
It is narrow, but then again there aren't any major highways inside central London. Other newer bridges aren't really any wider.

Well how the heck do all the suburbanite commuters get their SUVs to work in the morning?
Looks like you old worlders need to take some city planning lessons from Auto America!

Very simple. We sit in stationary traffic or don't drive. On friday I had to get to a meeting and had to take the car because I had a lot to take with me. A 5ish mile journey that took an hour. Lucky I left plenty of time. On my bike on weekends I can do it in 20 mins.

Don't you have a $7 toll or something of that nature to reduce commuting vehicles?

yup. congestion charge £8. it's an excuse for taxing more does nothing to relieve congestion. funny how many american cities send people to "learn" about it. it's a tax coming to you. start saving.

Unlikely . . . at least not any time soon. People around here view cheap vehicular travel as a birthright. There are no toll roads in Tennessee (unlike many other states). People get bent out of shape over the $60/year license plate tax and 39.8 cent/gallon gas tax. Why should we pay any more?
This photo almost makes London look like a scenic place. Is it Photoshopped?

Not that impressive. Mainly cause motobikes can clear anything if you do it right plus it was small.
