The pics here are of a bike I picked up from craigslist. I have a thing for the color (had a celeste bianchi for about 20 years that I then sold---and regretted ever since) and for steel. From the pics, there's very little rust (only on the stamped serial number). I know it's around 1994-97 or so from the colors that were available. I'd like any information that could be offered to get it narrowed down. The serial number if you can't read it from the pic is B626 649. I'd also like to know why the cables are crossed as the picture shows. I would have thought that they would go down either side of the downtube. May have been something the original owner did when he was cleaning it up, doing maintenance, repair, etc. All I had to have done from my lbs was retension and true the rear wheel....front wheel was fine as is everything else.I have the original seat as well as the one on it now (original owner never used the original seat) as well as the original stem. Any information is appreciated. Bianchigirl has been very helpful getting this much information to me.

It looks pretty identical to the 1996 Campione D'Italia I used to own (except for frame size). Campy Mirage components, Ambrosio rims w/Campy hubs. The only difference I see is the internal routing of the cable in the top tube, so I'm going to guess that this one is a year or two newer (I had a friend with a Veloce- one model up- and it had this cable routing. As for the crossed cables under the down tube- it is a very common practice, as it allows for a gentler curving of the cables from the handlebars to the adjusters. The original stem is probably a TTT, much prettier than the adjustable thing on there now.

My 1996 Veloce is very similar. The cables were crossed on my bike as well. Great bikes!
