The wallflowers are touring again this summer its been a break for them for a few years. Anyway saw them at the botanical gardens here in atlanta here's my review:

The opening band wildlight sucked. After that things got much better as Jakob and the boys hit the stage. I've always been a fan of Jakobs vocal ability and that meshed with a good band like the wallflowers really brings out some good music. Jakob still has his vocal ability (kinda a mix between dad and the boss) and the rest of the band responds with good music. It was a good show.

The crowd sucked as well, might have been the venue. I would have really liked to see them in a venue like the tabernacle or fox which would have heightened the quality of the music even though it was good at the garden I also like to see a good crowd as well and that might have happened at another venue.

They played 19 or so songs and combined with the opening act probably 3 hours of music. Some of the songs they played:

letters from the wasteland, feels like summer again, up from under, three marlenas, 6th avenue heartache (awesome), sleepwalker, god says nothing back, josephine (awesome), one headlight, beautiful side of somewhere, everything I need, how good it can get.

Stuart Mathis on lead was very good playing some quality slide, even though I wish they featured him a little more. The keyboarder on the hammond was good and the drummer Fred Eltringham was the sh@t.

So if you like very good roots rock like me, go out and support the wallflowers on their tour.:thumb:
