Did a local Tinman triathlon with a 5K run, 9 mile bike, and 4 lap pool swim. Yea, it's the short and easy sprint distance but very fun too! I ran the 5K in 26.40 which is a bit on the slow side but I hardly ever do any running. The bike was the awesome part. I smoked EVERYONE!! Well, atleast everyone I could catch in only 9 miles. There was a pretty tough 1 mile climb at the beginning, followed by a screaming 1 mile downhill. Then it was just sheer flat hammering, with a few tight curves, the rest of the way. Didn't get passed by a single rider and I lost count of the number or riders I passed. It was so cool passing guys on full tricked out tri bikes with their disc wheels and aero/tt bars. :^O BTW, I was riding my Giant TCR. The swim was only 4 laps so not much to tell there. I finished with a time of 57.41, which I'm extremely happy with. It was good enough for a 7th place out of 48 riders in my age group (30 - 34). If I could get my 5K time down to 20 minutes I would have won my age group. Next year!! :)

Congratulations! That's great. Sounds like fun, and not too overwhelming. I might try one like that myself. 4 laps sounds really short for a swim -- 100 yards probably?

Yep, 100 yards. Easy stuff, don't even have to train for the swim. You should try one - they're a blast.
