Road Cycling - Get another pair of shorts and jersey or not...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I ride weekends and sometimes nights during the week on my road bike. I just realized there's a LBS about 3 blocks away from my house that's been here all my life and I've NEVER been there. They're having a 50% off sale on all clothing. I currently have two jerseys and two pairs of shorts, you guys think I should snag another pair of I'm not that serious of a rider?
You can never have enough jerseys or shorts.
Have you considered bibs? ;)

I've looked at bibs, it looks like just another layer on my back, are people's shorts really falling down that much? :)

I personally can always use another jersey or bibs. My wife thinks otherwise. 50% off clothing is a steal. I would pick up another jersey and pair of bibs just to have.

In a New York minute! You can stick them in the back of the drawer for one an old pair wears out. I don't know how long bibs last, but I would doubt they make it three years.

It's not another layer. It's comfort. No waist band or drawstring to hinder your breathing.
My wife likes the way my "new" bibs look on me. She told me to order more so I did. :D One black, one gray, one navy.

well if you are starting to have a fashion statement, then don't wear a jersey,

ALWAYS get an extra pair. I have enough shorts and jerseys to go 4 days straight w/o having to wash. Haven't yet, but it's nice to know I can :D Seriously though, it DOES save on water when I'm riding heavily and I can go a week ebtween washes and feel like I'm conserving some. Also, they've been a few times when I washed my "good" shorts and forgot to take the out of the washer. Not gonna wear a wet pair, so out comes a "fall back" pair...

Yes, you wear a jersey, unless you're different from the rest of us. ;)

Well I'm wondering how people rotate their items around with wear. It's not as ridiculous as some of those discussions that talk about what color socks to wear.

Rotate by wearing clean stuff every ride.

Bibs are great! You don't notice the extra material and it's nice not having a waist band/string creating a pressure area. Peeing on the roadside involves a few extra moves though.
I haven't worn a non-bib short for maybe 10 years...
