Mach3 blades and shaving cream are costing me a small fortune.
I'm thinking about trying Ozone Hair Removal Depil Mousse (http://www.assosusa.com/ozone_elite.htm). Does anyone know if it works? How long between applications to keep the hair under control?

Get an epilator, it's a machine that'll literally rip each and every hair out by the roots. Should keep your legs girly smooth for a week.

I personally buy my Mach 3 blades from Costco you get 20 blades for $27.99 and I use my wifes industrial size moisturizing bath gel and shave away. Not really what you asked but I think shaving is the easiest way to stay hairless.

I get the same thing at Sam's for about the same price. I guess I'm just looking for something cheaper and that will keep the hair away for longer. :(

Over the long haul ... that is, years and years, it will eventually be cheaper to spend a bit more in the short term and find a more permanent hair removal solution such as laser hair removal etc... Assuming of course you don't mind having hairless legs your entire life and you plan to keep biking for years to come.

At $16.00 a bottle, do you know how many uses you get out of it?

I bet you the Mach3 razors are cheaper

Just buy the cheapest depilatory cream at the cheapest drugstore. They all work the same, and they all smell the same, which is to say lousy.

Put it on after a quick warm water rinse of the legs and then go outside for 10- 15 minutes. Hop in the shower a use a washcloth or loofah to scrub the hair off. Should last for 7-10 days.

I get a really long life out of my razor blades. I think the last blade I used lasted about three months. So factor in about 4 blades to a pack and at $9 I have a year's worth of blades.

I usually get blindfolded and sit in the tub while my wife does that shaving. I guess I never asked what blade she was using, never really seemed that important at the time.

Phil

P.S. I don't really shave my legs, yet.

I tried the hair removal creams but I was never satisfied with the result and never lasted as long as the bottle said. I always would end up shaving after I used the hair removal cream to get that "silky smooth feeling".

bikeforums... the only forum where men aren't ashamed to tell the whole world that they shave thier legs..... ;)

just kidding guys!!!

That's why I love bikeforums... 1001 reasons why to love bikeforums..

Anyway, Does it really have to be mach3 blades? what about the cheaper gillete models.. The mach3 may give the closest shave, but i don't think .001mm longer hair will affect the aerodynamics that much.. When your skin would get scrapped after a crash, it wouldn't make a difference..

So I say, get the cheapest blades and creams... I think its all the same... But when it comes to my chin, Its another story.,.. ;)

Ok, thanks for the input. I was hoping since this is marketed by Elite (http://www.elite-it.com/eng/f_home.htm) that perhaps it would be different and better than the usual creams (http://www.nairformen.com/).
I guess I'll keep on using Mach3. The cheaper blades are good for one or two shaves. Then they start cutting and scraping my legs.

How does that work? Wouldn't it cost a fortune, especially with a 36" inseam?
I thought they only did women's moustaches and the like.

No, depending on the "salon" you go to they'll do different things. Most that i've seen will do *almost* anything on males or females. I've been quoted between 180 and 240 per session and it's estimated you have to go through 4 sessions before the hair is completely eliminated. So if you call that 1000 even that's 35 sets of those razors at $28 dollars a pop. Now, i'm a bit of a sissy and love to be smooth and ensure I never have any knicks/ingrown hairs etc... so I use a seperate razor for my face/body and the body razor gets changed after 2 - 3 uses. That means if I'm shaving twice a week i'm going through a package of those razors in about 10 weeks and it would take 350 weeks or about 6.5 years for the laser treatment to become cost effective. So, like I said, you have to be in it for the long haul and want hairless legs for the rest of your life. There are of course other benefits, the fact that you'll never have an ingrown hair, never get razor burn, never have little stubby hairs growing out, never have to deal with that itch, and only have to worry about getting the legs done twice a year in the span of about an hour ... I think it's worth it
