Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

hey i do mostly freeride and some downhill type biking and im looking at getting either a rocky mountain RMX or Switch. i know that the RMX is alot better but im not sure if i have enough to afford it. the stock RMX i can get for $3,200 and the switch for $2,200. do u think that the RMX is worth waiting longer and spending more on instead of getting the Switch for my style of biking?

The switch sucks from what I have heard. For 500 less get a bighit comp, or for a couple hundred more get a bighit expert. Far better bikes in my opinion for your money. They will pedal just as good as the switch but are far tougher and will compliment your riding style now and a couple years down the road when your going bigger.

Bighits actually pedal better imo. The switch is a fun bike though. I was gonna grab a 2003 really cheap but it ended up fitting too small for me. (the large was tiny)
Gotta say I wouldn't bother getting one, but since you seem the be a rocky fan (the name of your handle) I would say the RMX. It is a rebadged RM7 with stronger linkage plates. Of both it would be the only one I would consider (unless the switch has the new plates too)
